🏮 The Midnight Mystery
One night in Kyoto, I was at a steak restaurant and asked the staff what time they were closing.
Sumimasen, time, close?
Yes, in intentionally broken English.
He answered in Japanese:
Gogo jūichi-ji.
No idea what it is. Turns out, he said 11:00 PM.
That moment stuck with me.
I didn't want to be lost the next time Japanese time came up — I wanted to actually be familiar with it.
So I built TimeKana.
